  2. 1 cup besan / gram flour
  3. 1 tbsp rava / semolina
  4. pinch hing or asafoetida (optional)
  5. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  6. 1 tsp ginger and chilli paste
  7. to taste salt
  8. 2 tbsp curd / yogurt
  9. 2 tbsp oil
  10. 5 tsp lime juice
  11. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  12. 1 tsp baking powder
  13. for tempering:-
  14. 2 tsp oil
  15. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  16. 3 split green chillies, slit lengthwise
  17. leaves few curry
  18. 1 tsp sugar
  19. coriander leaves finely chopped
  20. 4 tsp coconut, grated - optional

Steps to make to make Dhokla

  1. Firstly, take a bowl and add besan, semolina, hing, turmeric powder, ginger - chilli paste and salt.
    and mix well with a help of whisk. now add yogurt, oil, little by little water and mix thoroughly.
    Make dosa batter consistency.
  2. Add 3 tbsp lime juice,
    also add baking soda, baking powder and mix thoroughly.
    Now grease the tray or tiffin box with oil.
  3. Then, immediately pour the mixture into the tray.
    finally, place it in the steamer and steam for 10-15 mins.
  4. Tempering the dhokla:-

    firstly, heat oil in the pan and add mustard seeds chopped green chillies and curry leaves &
    Then add sugar, little water, salt and boil it until the sugar dissolves and switch of the flame.
  5. Now add lime juice and pour this mixture on the steamed dhokla.

    Transfer it into a plate.
  6. Now garnish with coriander leaves.

    finally enjoy it with green, tamarind chutney & tea. Enjoy!!!
